The Importance Of Congregational Prayers

Prayer in congregation means reading prayers or Namaaz together and with others. We hear the phrase ‘congregational prayer’ so often, and now we aren’t able to go to the mosque we have to read prayers at home in congregation. But why is it so important?

According to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) congregational prayers rewards a believer 27 times more than a prayer offered alone.
The Promised Messiah (peace be on him) while explaining the importance of congregational prayers to the Jama’at said:

“The idea behind putting more reward in congregational prayers is that it creates unity (togetherness). The instructions to physically help us attain unity are so particular that even the feet are required to be aligned (placed in a straight row), heels in line and rows straight.” It means everyone must act like one being.” The differences that cause us to be arrogant and selfish, does not last (in such a setting).” With congregational prayers, on one hand, the unity that Allah wishes to create among His Community is created and on the other hand people get influenced by each other’s good deeds”

So, following these blessed words of advice, we should make sure that whenever it becomes Namaaz time we should call everyone around us and at home so that we can read Namaaz together in congregation.
