Blessings of Khilafat
By Rayhaan Ahmad
Firstly, we must understand what Khilafat means. The word “Khalifa” means successor and in Islam, this term refers to the successor of a Prophet.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) said in a Friday Sermon:
“The Khalifa of the time has a personal connection with people of all backgrounds and all races. The content of the daily post of Khalifa of the time is an unbelievable manner for worldly people. People write personal letters to him, discussing their personal affairs. It is Khilafat that focuses on the pain of every Ahmadi of the world and Khalifa of the time prays for them. Which worldly leader prays for the ailing? Which worldly leader is anxious for young women and men to get married and prays for them? Which worldly leader is concerned about education of children? Indeed, governments provide education and also provide health service, but it is only the Khalifa of the time who is anxious for Ahmadi children to seek education and is anxious for them to have good health. There is no problem, be it of the Jama’at or of someone’s private life of which the Khalifa of the time is not aware, for which he does not make practical efforts and does not turn to God to pray!” (Friday Sermon 6th June 2014)
As members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we have the most beautiful blessings in the form of our beloved Khalifa and so it should be our innate desire to always show obedience to our spiritual father because when we do so, we witness an array of blessings showered upon us.
Huzoor (aba) once stated:
“My advice to you is to always strive to strengthen the institution of Khilafat. And always advise your progeny and their progeny to remain connected to Khilafat so they can reap its benefits. And continue to remember the blessings of Khilafat in your homes and in your Jama’at meetings.” (Huzoor’saba message for the opening of Baitus Sami Mosque, Houston, USA)
The Jama’at has entered a new phase, an era where the world is knocking our doors. We must become the true embodiment of the directives of the Khalifa. This is not the job of the person sitting next to your right or left, this is, in fact, for all of us. We are all the leaves of the same tree and to prosper, we have to stay firmly approached to the tree of Khilafat, otherwise we’ll find ourselves adrift in the breeze.
Huzoor (aba) mentioned in his speech at the National Ijtema 2021, that “Khuddam and Atfal should foster an atmosphere of love and brotherhood.”
By the grace of Allah, the prophecy of the Holy Prophet (sa) has been fulfilled in favour of Jamaat Ahmadiyya. Since 1908, after the demise of the Promised Messiah (as) and in accordance with his book Al Wassiyat (The Will), Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya has been blessed with Khilafat and it is progressing with the blessings of Khilafat all over the world. We must pray that all Khuddam and Atfal are able to fulfil their role in serving humanity and serving the jamaat of the Promised Messiah (as).
