Atfal Matters: Masih Maud (as) Day

Masih Maud (as) day is commemorated to celebrate the day, Saturday 23rd March 1889, when forty devoted servants of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as) accepted Ahmadiyyat in light of the prophecies of the Holy Prophet (sa) regarding the coming of a latter day reformer. On this day, Ahmadis reflect on the life and teachings of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), reaffirming their commitment to his mission of promoting peace, harmony, and justice in the world. Masih Maud (as) day serves as a reminder for Ahmadis to strive towards embodying the noble values of their founder. It is a day of spiritual reflection, gratitude, and renewal of commitment to the path of righteousness and service of God and humanity.

In the hearts of Atfal, the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), affectionately known as Masih Maud, stands as a luminous guide, illuminating the path of spiritual enlightenment and moral excellence. As young members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Atfal are encouraged by the rich legacy and profound teachings of Hadhrat Masih Maud (as). Despite facing an intense opposition he displayed unparalleled patience and perseverance. Atfal are reminded that challenges are an integral part of life, and through resilience and commitment, they can overcome obstacles on their journey to spiritual growth. Atfal can learn from his profound connection with Allah which he honed through regular prayers and unwavering devotion. He stressed the importance of seeking true awareness of God which he said could only be done by experiencing God via prayer. By embracing these values we as Atfal can embark on a journey of spiritual growth and seeking peace for their soul, following the footsteps of the Promised Messiah (as) and contributing positively to their communities and the world at large.

After researching about Hadhrat Masih Maud (as), I learnt that from a young age he displayed an exceptional intellect and a thirst for knowledge. His early years were marked with a profound connection with the Holy Quran. He also had a profound connection with Allah through regular prayers and remained absolutely loyal to Allah. I have realised that true success in this life and in the next is only through seeking God through prayer and by understanding the light of the Holy Qur’an. So as Atfal, we should try our best to follow the guidance of the Promised Messiah (as) and improve ourselves in making the best relationship possible with Allah the Almighty. We all should try our best to keep away from falsehood, and dishonesty. Only then can we say we have understood the significance of Masih Maud (as) day.
